I was trying to help kona convert a msstyle to windowblind and my windowblind decided to up and quit. It would start and put on the blind and about five seconds later, it takes it off and goes back to classic mode. Its been doing this for a while, but never this badly. So I uninstalled it. Now look what has happened. Please help.

silly Q, but have you rebooted after setting it to Windows XP?

Then tried WB again?

Your not using the uxtheme.dll hack file??

what I really don't understand is why those buttons even exist considering at the time of the screenshot windowblinds wasn't even installed, and I had rebooted after uninstalling it.

hmmm. that might be it Esscay, let me go and check. I thought it got replaced during my windows reinstall because it stopped working, but it might have not and the newer windowblinds is messing with it.

no, i didn't reformat because it was actually considered an upgrade. I think it just relpaces the systemfiles. Its an option you have when you choose to reinstall windows. I guess it didn't though.

I can't restore because I turned that off. With the aformentioned reinstall/upgrade it fixes things like systemfile corruption and registry problems. Now I have gotten rid of the buttons by scrubbing the registry of all things dealing with windowblinds. I also put back the original uxtheme file. Now off to reinstall windowblinds and see if it works.

it keeps all data and installed programs as they where so whatever was dkined it is still dinked...

let me comment more on the reinstall upgrade vs. system restore. With it I have succesfully restored my system before. I know it replaces system files because I had changed my shell32 and it was back to the original afterwords. I would rather have clean systemfiles the to use system restore. For the other problems that might occur, If i let them happen and the system restore could of fixed then shame on me, but I wanted the several gigs it was taking up back. I know you can set it on lesser, but Its personally not for me.

Yes, but thoughtfully enough I erased the programs/data from hardrive. If it was important I would have left in a place where it couldn't have gotten dinked.
